State History Day Results

As you know the Regional 4 History Day competition was held the final day of school- March 13thWheatland History Day Students -were shining bright.

Due to Covid19 our State History Day was a virtual this year. Student projects had to be converted for the new format. 

State results / Awards ceremony were a Zoom meeting with 140 viewers.

ALL Wheatland projects made it through to the final round.

Cash prizes were awarded to :

  • Caroline Lockhart Historic Newspaper Award to Bailey Fitzwater and Ian Engling for their Senior Division Exhibit-"Exposing the Teapot Dome; “The Granddaddy of all Governmental Scandals” "
  • Winning Scholarship -$1000  Bailey Fitzwater and Ian Engling
  • Fred and Flossie Graves Homestead Award to Kaylee Rasnake for her Junior Division Website-- "Breaking Sod" Women Homesteaders Plow Through Historical Barriers One Row at a Time
  • Florence Sommers Jensen History Award to Rylie Davis and Arianna Edwards for their Junior Group Exhibit- ""The Voice of Women" Wyoming Breaks Gender Barrier"

4th Place- Eleni McKee and Traylea Foland- Jr. Group Documentary--Fighting an Uphill Battle Breaking Ranks Women in the Military

3rd Place- Rylie Davis and Arianna Edwards -Jr. Group Exhibit--"The Voice of Women" Wyoming Breaks Gender Barrier

 

NATIONAL QUALIFIERS:

1st Place- Camryn Mickelsen, Delaney Aurich, and Ella Keil- Jr Group Website--"Crossing the Bridge of Faith." Breaking racial and gender barriers.

1st Place-Wyatt Fitzwater and Gabe Cas- Jr. Group Exhibit--“The Miracle of Deliverance” Breaking the Stronghold with Atomic Power

1st Place- Karely Garcia and Karly Jones- Jr. Group Performance--

"Viva La Causa" It's not about the grapes it's about the people. Breaking social and racial barriers through boycotts.

2nd Place Bailey Fitzwater and Ian Engling -Sr. Group Exhibit--"Exposing the Teapot Dome; “The Granddaddy of all Governmental Scandals” "


 

The National competition will be virtual this year to Covid19

Students will submit all projects within the next two weeks.
